Episode 5: Silas had a vivid nightmare, chasing his daughter through a dark carnival attraction. He found her with her “true” father before waking in an opium den to the sight of strongman Julius hulking over him. Julius explained his search for Nolan Arnett and Silas agreed to speak to the old man in charge of the den. Nolan was seemingly startled awake by the old man, but fled when Silas and Julius sought his help. Silas learned that Julius intended to break someone out of jail via the campus steam tunnels, but agreed to help with the noble cause. They gave chase and convinced Nolan to provide access to the underground tunnels in exchange for a good grade in his botany class. The pair entered the steam tunnels via keys Nolan provided and encountered a cult ritual that turned out to be a college student hazing exercise. On their way to the tunnel’s jail entrance, the duo found headless rats that had been used to paint lines over the tunnel walls. Opting to follow the blood threads, Silas looked into a storage room where the lines converged. He found the bodies and heads of countless rats along with what looked like tufts of human hair.
